VDA 5050

VDA 5050 is a standardized interface for communication between automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and fleet management software, aiming to address challenges arising from different AGV manufacturers. The goal is to enable diverse AGVs to work together under a single fleet management system, enhancing operational efficiency. The collaboration between the German Association of the Automotive Industry and the VDMA Materials Handling and Intralogistics Association led to the development of VDA 5050. The standard covers communication between AGV fleet managers and compliant AGVs, with the latest version introducing functionalities like sending 'actions' and a 'Fact Sheet' describing vehicle details.
